Homework

1. Retain the “beginning of year letter to Parents” which will guide you in regard to homework.
2. Try to create a time and space for homework and encourage the development of a routine early in the school year.
3. Try to minimise distractions.l
4. Be aware of (ongoing) extremes i.e. what appears to be very little homework or homework that “goes on all night”.  
5. It is important to note that (especially in middle and senior classes),  homework will include learning as well as written work.
6. Encourage independence as much as possible but do check that work is completed.
7. Contact the school to make an appointment to meet the class teacher if you have ongoing concerns (i.e. a week or longer).
