SPORTS CODE OF CONDUCT

We regard it is a privilege and honour to represent the school.  Placement on the school panels/teams is entirely at the discretion of the relevant teacher/coach. As outlined in the school’s Code of Behaviour, misconduct (at school or during matches) which is deemed sufficiently serious, may result in the removal of a member from the panel and/or team for one or more games. All decisions in relation to these matters will be made by the relevant teacher/coach in consultation with the principal.  The policy was discussed with officers of the Parents Association on 11/04/08 and sanctioned by The Board of Management on 15/04/08.

Myself

I will always try my best at training and during matches. If I play below my best but try my best, I should not blame myself for a defeat.  A defeat, like a victory, is brought about by a full team not just one player.  

Fellow Players

I will respect my fellow players do my best to work as a team.
The team includes the players and the substitutes - the full panel.

Our Own Team Coaches

I will always respect the team coaches/trainers and follow their instructions to the best of my ability.
I understand that I may not always get a game and I will not complain.

Players from opposing teams

I will always be willing to shake hands before & after the match I will treat my  opponents with respect I wil. wish them well whether they win or lose. I will never deliberately hit an opponent or lose my temper.

Supporters & Coaches of Other Teams

I will respect adults supporting and coaching other teams as they are also giving their free time to their team.

General

I will obey the safety rules of buses including proper use of seatbelts.
I will do my best to show respect in my use of language and co-operation with all officials.
